Program Description

Description

The title for this month is The Family Game by Catherine Steadman.

Harriet Reed, a novelist on the brink of literary stardom, is newly engaged to Edward Holbeck the heir of an extremely powerful family. Although Edward has kept his family at arm’s length, the news of the couple’s marital bliss brings the Holbecks back into their lives. Robert, Edward’s father hands Harriet a tape of a book he has been working on, and when Harriet pushes play, it’s clear it isn’t just a novel, it’s a confession of a grisly crime.

Join us for Murder by the Book, the library's mystery book discussion group, which meets in-person on the first Thursday of the month from January through November at 10:30 am. Participants will discuss a selected book from different mystery authors. For fans of mysteries of all kinds—from cozies to spy thrillers! This book discussion is led by Adult Services Librarian Kelly-Ann Gardella.

Many of the book discussion titles can be downloaded via the library's Hoopla or Overdrive services. Check for video instructions on using Hoopla. Print copies are available at the library for most book groups. Call 203-438-2282 about reserving books. Copies can also be purchased at Books on the Common at a 15% discount.
