Program Description

Description

The title for this month is The Woman in the Library by Sulari Gentill.

The beautifully ornate reading room at the Boston Public Library is completely silent one weekday morning until a woman’s terrified scream echoes through the room. Security guards immediately appear and instruct everyone to stay put. While they wait for the all-clear, four strangers who had been sitting in the reading room get to chatting and quickly become friendly. Each have their own reason for being in the reading room that morning and it happens that one of them may turn out to be a murderer. This story is an unexpected twisty literary adventure that examines the nature of friendship and shows us that words can be the most dangerous weapons of all

Join us for Murder by the Book, the library's mystery book discussion group, which meets in-person on the first Thursday of the month from January through November with an option to participate via Zoom at 10:30 am. Participants will discuss a selected book from different mystery authors. For fans of mysteries of all kinds—from cozies to spy thrillers! This book discussion is led by Adult Services Librarian Kelly-Ann Gardella.

*You may also choose to attend the program online. Everyone who registers below will receive the Zoom link.

Many of the book discussion titles can be downloaded via the library's Hoopla or Overdrive services. Check for video instructions on using Hoopla. Print copies are available at the library for most book groups. Call 203-438-2282 about reserving books. Copies can also be purchased at Books on the Common at a 15% discount.

If you are participating by Zoom and have not received your Zoom link by the day before the program, please email lmbachmann@ridgefieldlibrary.org
