Program Description

Description

The title for this month is The Lamplighters by Emma Stonex.

It's New Year's Eve, 1972 when a boat pulls up to Maiden Rock lighthouse with relief keepers, but no one greets them. When the entrance door is battered down, the rescuers find an empty tower with a table laid out for a meal that is not eaten. Two decades later the wives left behind are visited by a writer determined to find the truth about the men's disappearance.

Critics' Circle now meets in person on the third Tuesday of the month (except December) at 6:30 pm for a discussion of new and classic titles. New readers are always welcome. This book discussion is led by Margaret Eustace.

Many of the book discussion titles can be downloaded via the Library's Hoopla or Overdrive services. Check for video instructions on using Hoopla. Print copies are available at the library for most book groups. Call 203-438-2282 about reserving books. Copies can also be purchased at Books on the Common at a 15% discount..
