Join us online as poet Barb Jennes hosts five guest poets whose work represents the quality and diversity of poetry in the Nutmeg State.

Brianna Bencosme Bido is a Dominican-American poet and educator from Danbury whose work explores grief and violence in the African Diaspora. She holds a B.A. and M.F.A. in Creative and Professional Writing from Western CT State University.

Linda Blakesley has hosted the monthly Poets’ Corner open mic at the Coventry Arts Guild since 2023. The series attracts poets from all over Eastern Connecticut and beyond. An avid runner, Linda is “mom” to two cats, Jake and Fiona.

Joseph Ellison Brockway, a poet, collagist, translator and educator, is the author of Beautiful Corruption, a full-length collection of poetry and art. His poetry appears in print and online journals. He teaches Spanish at CT State Community College Tunxis.

Nancy Gerber holds a PhD in English and completed psychoanalytic training at the Academy of Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis, where she is a member of the faculty.  Her most recent book, Language Like Water, received the Independent Press Award.

David Henri is the current Beat Poet Laureate of Connecticut (2025-2026). He has self-published four poetry books and labels his poetry "modern transcendentalism". A lover and defender of nature, he lives in a near-net-zero home.
