Join us online as we host five notable Connecticut poets for an evening of diverse poetry and community.
Melissa Buckheit is a queer poet and translator, activist, and dancer/choreographer. She is the author of Noctilucent and two chapbooks. Her poems, translations, essays, and reviews appear widely.
Donna Disch, the new poet laureate of Westport, traveled the world, taught English in Vermont and Venezuela, and worked as a textbook editor in Manhattan before settling in Westport 25 years ago.
Joan Kunsch, author of the poetry collection Playing with Gravity, is a classical ballet teacher and choreographer who makes her artistic home at the Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory in Torrington.
Michael Peterson, the inaugural poet laureate of New Britain, is a three-time CT Spoken Word Grand Slam Champion. He wrote and performs in a one-man show, I Wish Life Had Training Wheels.
John Popielaski has poems forthcoming in Canary, Common Ground Review, and Public School Poetry. His new poetry collection, That Special Something, will be released in June.
The curator and moderator of this series, Barb Jennes, is the Poet Laureate Emerita of Ridgefield and has published two chapbooks.
