Join us online as we host five noteworthy Connecticut poets for an evening of diverse poetry and community, facilitated by Barb Jennes, Poet Laureate Emerita of Ridgefield.

Victor Altshul, a retired psychiatrist, began writing poetry in 2012 after attending a psychoanalytic conference on Elizabeth Bishop's villanelle "The Art of Losing.” He has four poetry collections.

Sharon Charde, a licensed family therapist, volunteered to teach poetry to young women in residential treatment for 17 years. Widely published and honored for her volunteerism, she has seven poetry collections.

Ed Lent, the inaugural poet laureate of Madison, is a visual artist and lifetime educator. He directs the Ekphrastic Poetry Trust, which he founded in 2024. Lent received a CT Arts Hero Award in 2020.

Angela Siew has received fellowship support from Kenyon Review, Sewanee Writers’ Conference, Community of Writers, and others. Widely published and multilingual, she teaches poetry online.

Edwina Trentham is a Professor Emerita of English at Asnuntuck Community College, where she founded the poetry journal, Freshwater. A Yaddo fellow, she is the author of the collection Stumbling into the Light
