Program Description

Description

The title for this month is The Year of the Runaways by Sunjeev Sahota.

The Year of the Runaways by Sunjeev Sahota – (INDIA/ENGLAND) After journeying from India to England, the destinies of three young men and one woman become irreversibly entwined as they rely on one another in unforeseen ways. Tarlochan, a former rickshaw driver, will say nothing about his life in Bihar. Avtar and Randeep are middle-class boys, bound together by Avtar's secret. Randeep has a visa wife across town, whose cupboards are full of her husband's clothes in case the immigration agents surprise her with a visit. And the story of Narinder is the most surprising of them all.

Join us for World Lit Now!, a book-discussion group focused on recently published, award-winning literature from around the globe.
