Description

This month's title is What Storm, What Thunder by Myriam J.A. Chancy.

In Haiti an array of characters struggle to reassemble their lives in sweeping, interconnected stories after a 7.0 earthquake devastates Port-au-Prince.

More: The  characters include Richard, a wealthy water-bottling executive; Anne, an architect who drafts affordable housing structures; Leopold, a small-time drug trafficker; Sonia followed by a man she believes is the vodou spirit of death; Didier, an emigrant musician; Sara, a mother haunted by the ghosts of her children; and Ma Lou, an old woman from the market who remembers them all.

Join us for World Lit Now!, a book-discussion group focused on recently published, award-winning literature from around the globe.
