The title for this month is How Beautiful We Were by Imbolo Mbue.

Set in a fictional African village, this novel tells the story of people living in fear amid environmental degradation wrought by an American oil company. The people of Kosawa decide to fight back. The novel explores what happens when the drive for profit comes up against a community’s determination.
