The title for this month is The Warden by Anthony Trollope.
This story paints the picture of a gentle, thoughtful warden of Barchester Cathedral, Mr. Septimus Harding, who lives an ordered, regular life in his protected religious environment. Loved by all with whom he works, he is taken aback by a young reformer who feels he has discovered a mismanagement of funds—and Harding is held to blame. The accusation comes as a shock to Harding and the cathedral community.
The A.M. Book Discussion Group meets in person with an option to participate via Zoom on the fourth Wednesday of the month (except December) at 10:00 am. New readers are always welcome.
