Join us online for a reading by three poet-couples from Connecticut!

Our February reading features three poet-couples: Laurel Peterson & Van Hartmann, Margot Schilpp & Jeff Mock; and Denise Abercrombie & Jonathan Andersen.

Hosted and curated by Ridgefield Poet Laureate Emerita Barb Jennes, Poems from Connecticut’s Four Corners readings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00. Each episode features notable poets from throughout the state.

Denise Abercrombie’s poems are published widely; she has read her work internationally. She teaches theater at E.O. Smith High School and helps coordinate the Poetry in the Park series in Willimantic.

Jonathan Andersen is the author of two poetry collections, Augur—a 2019 CT Book Award finalist—and Stomp and Sing. He is a professor of English at CT State Community College, Quinebaug Valley.

Laurel Peterson, a community college English professor, is the author of two poetry chapbooks, two full-length collections, and two mystery novels. She is the poet laureate emerita of Norwalk.

Van Hartmann recently retired as a professor of English at Manhattanville College. His poems have appeared in a variety of journals, and he is the author of a chapbook and three poetry collections.

Margot Schilpp teaches at Southern CT State University and at Quinnipiac. She is the author of four volumes of poetry including Afterswarm, winner of the 2020 Connecticut Book Award in Poetry.

Jeff Mock is the author of Ruthless. His poems appear widely in literary journals including The Iowa Review and The Atlantic Monthly. He directs the MFA program at Southern CT State University.
