Join us online for a reading by notable poets representing each of the state’s four corners, plus one from the central Hartford area. Our January reading features Ralph Nazareth, Victoria Nordlund, Julia Paul, Rob Piazza, and Julia Maylor Simpson. Hosted and curated by Ridgefield Poet Laureate Emerita Barb Jennes, Poems from Connecticut’s Four Corners readings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00.

Ralph Nazareth is a poet, teacher, and publisher who taught for 40 years at SUNY Stony Brook and Purchase. He is the author of four poetry collections and is the managing editor of Yuganta Press.

Victoria Nordlund is the creative writing director at Rockville High School, an adjunct professor at UConn, and a master teaching artist at The Mark Twain House & Museum. She has two poetry collections.

Julia M. Paul is author of two full-length collections and a chapbook. Her poems are widely published, including in the 2023 Pushcart Prize XLVII anthology. Paul leads the Riverwood Poetry Series.

Rob Piazza earned his MFA in Creative Writing at Fairfield University. He teaches literature and composition at colleges and universities throughout New England. Rob serves as Poet Laureate of Litchfield. 

Julia Meylor Simpson’s poetry has been published in journals across the country. Before retiring, she worked as a corporate writer/editor, as a high school English teacher, and as a newspaper editor.
