Scott Frey’s poems appear widely, including in The Missouri Review, where his work received the Perkoff Prize. His collection Heavy Metal Nursing won the Tampa Review Prize. Strange Vigil, a Black River Chapbook Competition winnerwill be published this fall. 

Margaret Gibson, UConn Professor Emerita and CT State Poet Laureate (2019-2022), has published 14 books of poems, most recently Draw Me Without Boundaries. A two-time winner of the Connecticut Book Award, she was a Finalist for the National Book Award in 1993.  

Benjamin S. Grossberg’s poetry books include My Husband Would (Connecticut Book Award winner) and Sweet Core Orchard (Lambda Literary Award). As Are Right Fit was published in 2024. Ben is Director of Creative Writing at the University of Hartford.

V. Penelope Pelizzon’s A Gaze Hound That Hunteth by the Eye was longlisted for the National Book Critics Circle Award. Nostos won the Poetry Society of America’s Norma Farber First Book Award. She is a Professor of English at the University of Connecticut.  

 Charles Rafferty is the author of 15 poetry collections and chapbooks, most recently The Appendectomy Grin (forthcoming) and A Cluster of Noisy Planets. His poems have appeared in The New Yorker, Poetry Daily, Rhino, Prairie Schooner, Ploughshares and elsewhere. 

The curator and moderator of this series, Barb Jennes, is the Poet Laureate Emerita of Ridgefield and has published two chapbooks.
