The title for this month is Emma by Jane Austen, 1815
Emma, the fourth novel by Jane Austen was published in three volumes in 1815. Set near the fictional English village of Highbury, Austen explores the concerns and difficulties of genteel women living in Georgian-Regency England. Emma Woodhouse is beautiful, wealthy and smart. She is convinced she will never marry and believes she is an excellent matchmaker.
The A.M. Book Discussion meets in person with an option to participate via Zoom on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 10:00 am (except for December). This book group will also not meet on the Wednesday before the Thanksgiving Day Holiday on 11/28/24.. The A.M. Book Group leader will set a date change for November. New readers are always welcome. Tom Madden is the facilitator.

Many of the book discussion titles can be downloaded via the Library's Hoopla or Overdrive services. Check for video instructions on using Hoopla. Print copies are available at the library for most book groups. Call 203-438-2282 about reserving books. Copies can also be purchased at Books on the Common at a 15% discount.
