Description

The title for this month is The Painted Veil by W. Somerset Maugham.

Maugham’s classic novel tells the story of Kitty Fane, the beautiful but shallow wife of Walter, a bacteriologist stationed in Hong Kong. When Walter discovers her infidelity, he exacts a strange but terrible vengeance: Kitty must accompany him to his new posting in remote mainland China, where a cholera epidemic rages.

The Founders Hall Book Group meets on the second Thursday of the month (except December) at 3:00 pm. This Book Group is open to Founders Hall members only. For more information about Founders Hall, click here. This book discussion is led by Andy Forsyth, the Ridgefield Library’s Assistant Director.
