Making Smart Energy Choices Series

Feeling helpless about climate change? We have some answers for you!

Starting on Monday, April 19, at 6 p.m., Ridgefield Action Committee for the Environment (RACE) and Ridgefield Library present a series of six weekly Zoom sessions on Making Smart Energy Choices. The presenters are Ridgefielders with experience in these topics. RACE serves in an advisory capacity to Ridgefield's Board of Selectmen. RACE’s mission is to raise awareness, educate and bring about actions that can be taken to become smarter about energy use, be good stewards to our natural resources and reduce waste.

• May 3 - How to Get a Free Energy Audit with Gavin Watson - Do you have an older home with drafts and air leaks?  Are you interested in reducing your electric and heating bills?  Do you know how much your hot water heater is costing you, and that there are much better alternatives?  Do you know what options are available for improving your home’s insulation? Did you know you can get a free energy audit and get LED bulbs and many of the air leaks sealed in your home for free?  In addition, you can get steep discounts on insulation, replacement windows and hot water heaters.   Gavin Watson recently retired from a family business in West Haven Ct.  The business saved about $200,000 a year in electricity due to the energy saving ideas implemented. Saving energy and reducing his carbon footprint are two things Gavin is passionate about.
