Program Description

Description

The title for this month is Felix Holt, the Radical by George Eliot.

When the young nobleman Harold Transome returns to England from the colonies with a self-made fortune, he scandalizes the town of Treby Magna with his decision to stand for Parliament as a Radical. But after the idealistic Felix Holt also returns to the town, the difference between Harold's opportunistic values and Holt's profound beliefs becomes apparent.

The A.M. Book Discussion Group meets in person with an option to participate via Zoom on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 10:00 am. *Please note the alternate meeting dates in August and November. This book group does not meet in December. New readers are always welcome. Tom Madden is the facilitator.
