The title for this month is The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins, 1868
A debased Englishman steals the moonstone, a sacred gem, from India. It brings bad luck to each of its English possessors. When the gem disappears from a young Englishwoman’s room and three sinister figures menace her family, the careful, methodical Sergeant Cuff is assigned to the case. Collins increases the novel’s complexity by using multiple narrators.
The A.M. Book Discussion meets in person with an option to participate via Zoom on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 10:00 am (except for December). This book group will also not meet on the Wednesday before the Thanksgiving Day Holiday on 11/28/24.. The A.M. Book Group leader will set a date change for November. New readers are always welcome. Tom Madden is the facilitator.
