Description
The title for this month is The Girl with the Louding Voice by Abi Dare - NIGERIA
In a rural Nigerian village, Adunni longs to get an education so she can find her “louding voice” and speak up for herself. Despite the seemingly insurmountable obstacles in her path, she never loses sight of her goal of escaping the life of poverty she was born into so that she can build the future she chooses for herself - and help other girls like her do the same.
Join us for World Lit Now!, a book-discussion group focused on recently published, award-winning literature from around the globe. We meet in person on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 10:30 am from January through November. New readers are always welcome! Barb Jennes, Ridgefield’s Poet Laureate emerita, leads the group’s always-lively discussions. Please register below.
Many of the book discussion titles can be downloaded via the Library's Hoopla or Overdrive services. Check for video instructions on using Hoopla. Print copies are available at the Library for most book groups. Call 203-438-2282 about reserving books. Copies can also be purchased at Books on the Common at a 15% discount.
