Program Description
Description
Students in Grades 3-6 and their caregiver are invited to enjoy an evening exploring Earth's closest celestial neighbor, the Moon! The Ridgefield High School Astronomy Club will demonstrate and describe the reasons for the moon's phases and the causes for various types of eclipses. Students will discuss the origin of the moon, it's history of exploration, and how to safely view the upcoming solar eclipse events. Weather permitting, students will use telescopes to observe the Moon and Saturn from the Library's Richardson Terrace. Registration is required and opens on August 26, 2023.
Students must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
