Drawing Shadows to add more Realism and Depth - Colored Pencil Drawing Course
Whether your colored pencil drawing is a still life, portrait or landscape, knowing where and how to place shadows can add more depth and realism to your work of art. Using basic geometry, we will cover the shape and length of shadows based on the location and angle of the light source, and their effect on the surfaces upon which they are cast.
The class will also explore the differences of shadow edges and values created by sunlight, moonlight, candlelight or artificial light, as well as how they affect color shades and tints. Because each of these nuances generates its own unique emotional response in the observer of the artwork, mastering these skills is bound to make your drawings much more striking and dramatic.
Materials list is in your confirmation email. Register for the first session only and you will be signed up for all seven.
