Program Description

Description

The title for this month is The Map of Salt and Stars by Zeyn Joukhadar.

The Map of Salt and Stars by Zeyn Joukhadar - (MIDDLE EAST & NORTH AFRICA) The Map of Salt and Stars follows the journeys of two young women living 800 years apart: Nour, whose family is forced to flee Syria as refugees in 2011; and 16-year-old Rawiya, who—disguised as a boy—embarks on an epic journey and encounters ferocious mythical beasts, epic battles, and real historical figures along the way. As they travel identical paths, both women brave the unknown beside their companions, pulled by the promise of reaching home at last.
