Description
Mark Schenker presents a series of lectures this fall on novels that engage the themes of curiosity and exploration.
Dr. Schenker, formerly of Yale College and a frequent lecturer at the Ridgefield Library, concludes the series with the remarkable Norwegian novel Out Stealing Horses (2003) in which self-exploration and the Second World War meet in the story of Trond Sander. Trond, a sixty-something man, has moved into the isolated woods of eastern Norway, retiring from his work life but not from the memories of his past
This program is part of the Library's scholarly series, The Curious Mind: Exploration and Discovery, and is made possible by the generosity of the Friends of the Ridgefield Library.
