Program Description

Description

The title this month is The Golden Gate by Amy Chua.

In 1944 California, Homicide Detective Al Sullivan has just left the swanky Claremont Hotel when a presidential candidate is assassinated in one of the rooms upstairs. A rich industrialist with enemies among the anarchist factions on the far left, Walter Wilkinson could have been targeted by any number of groups. But the investigation brings up the specter of another tragedy at the Claremont, ten years earlier, of a seven-year old girl.

Join us for Murder by the Book, the library's mystery book discussion group, which meets in-person on the first Thursday of the month from January through November at 10:30 am.** Please note that the April meeting is on the SECOND Thursday of the month due to the Friends of Ridgefield Library Book Sale event.

Participants will discuss a selected book from different mystery authors. For fans of mysteries of all kinds—from cozies to spy thrillers! This book discussion is led by Adult Services Librarian Kelly-Ann Gardella.

Many of the book discussion titles can be downloaded via the library's Hoopla or Libby accounts. Check for video instructions on using Hoopla. Personal copies can also be purchased at Books on the Common at a 15% discount.
