Program Description

Description

A series of four, 90-minute conversations in which Kindergarten parents will have an opportunity to:

  • Get up-to-date research and information on how to deal with your most difficult parenting challenges.
  • Share experiences and strategies for promoting resilience and healthy psychosocial development.
  • Build supportive relationships with other Kindergarten parents.

How they'll work: 

  • Each circle limited to no more than 12 parents.
  • Led by Doug Barile, LMFT, local family therapist and youth counselor.
  • First 15 minutes: Doug will present on a topic highly relevant to effectively parenting your Kindergartner. See sample topics below.
  • Remaining time: discussion and sharing.
  • Circles encouraged to continue beyond the facilitated sessions.
  • No charge! Sessions are co-sponsored by the Ridgefield Community Coalition, the Library and your school's PTA.

  • Session 1: The Anxiety Epidemic & How You Can Insulate Your Child
  • Session 2: The Price of Privilege & Keys to Raising Resilient Kids
  • Session 3: Acrobatic Parenting: Staying Positive While Maintaining Limits 
  • Session 4: Putting It All Together: Promoting Healthy Development
