DRAWING WITH GRAPHITE
In this course, we will first explore the basics of drawing not only in black-&-white, but also in a thousand shades of grey. For those who have used graphite pencils before, come hone your skills, and learn new and more nuanced techniques this medium allows. For those who are less familiar with graphite, join us to discover the wonderful qualities of this timeless artform, and find out why it is much richer and surprising than simply drawing with a pencil.

Materials to start: white drawing paper (Canson XL Mixed Media or similar), and a set of graphite pencils that include 4H, 2H, H, HB, 2B and 4B grades, a manual pencil sharpener, a white eraser, and a kneaded eraser. For anyone wishing to purchase everything as a complete kit, the following is recommended: Castle Arts - 26 Piece Drawing and Sketching Graphite Pencil Art Set. Having a two-pocket folder to store weekly hand-out reference sheets will help keep them organized.

Please register ONLY on the first date, April 14, and you will be considered registered for all eight sessions. There will be no class on May 12, 19, or 26.
