Program Description

Description

Kirsten Ivey-Colson and Lynn Turner from The AntiRacist Table offer this four-part online parenting series as part of the Library's Understanding Race: Community Conversations initiative. Geared for parents of young children ages birth-seven, Attorney Ivey-Colson and Early Childhood Educator Turner will offer engaging, age-appropriate education and resources to families seeking support in incorporating AntiRacism as part of their family values.

  • Session One, June 17: Ages & Stages--Children Are Not Colorblind
  • Session Two, June 24: Teaching Children About Race--A Developmental Approach for Children Birth-7
  • Session Three, July 1: Creating an AntiRacist Family Culture--A Workshop
  • Session Four, July 8: Tea and Coffee Chat at The AntiRacist Table

This series is four sessions and the material is cumulative, so registering for the June 17th session, will register you for all four. Please do your best to attend all the sessions, and let us know if you are unable to attend after registering so that we may invite others from the waiting list.
