Description
Ridgefield Fire Chief Jerry Myers will focus on the importance of safety in your home. He will discuss how things change as we age. Some of the topics he will address are: distraction when cooking, clearing pathways around the home, installing night lights, upgrading antique wiring, and using fire detectors and smoke alarms.
Chief Myers is in charge of the career firefighters as well as the volunteers and the department’s paramedics. Seniors should never hesitate to call for help in either a fire situation or a medical emergency.
The Commission anticipates having the Ridgefield Professional Fire Fighters Association “File of Life” magnets available to hand out at the forum.
Senior Voices is a free event and a hybrid program. Individuals may attend in person and on-line. Light refreshments will be served. If you have any questions, please contact the Commission on Aging at commissiononaging@ridgefieldct.gov.
