Program Description

Description

Children in grades 3-5 who want to try coding in Python will enjoy designing games with this easy to learn and powerful computer language. In this class, students will work to create simple games like rock, paper, scissors, turtle race and/or secret messages (which works on encryption).  Each project is easy for beginners to grasp and provides a transition into more complex concepts and games. Students will also learn how to problem solve errors in a computer program through a technique called “debugging” that will help students identify and fix their problems to get their game to working perfectly! Registration required. You will receive a zoom link with instructions to join the classes.  The link will remain the same each week. Children must be able to commit to attending all 6 classes if possible.

Prerequisites: Ability to follow written and visual instructions, careful attention to spelling and details are essential. 

Technology Requirements: Chromebooks or PC or Mac with Wifi and Scroll Mouse. Links to class tools used:
