Program Description

Description

Did you know that trees and other plants have ways to communicate with each other? People tend to think of plants as mere objects, but research has led to some perspective-shifting discoveries about trees and other plant life. In this presentation, Woodcock Nature Center educator Tommy McCarthy will share some fascinating facts about the plant kingdom and also let you in on some great books to read if you’re interested in learning even more!

Tommy is an Environmental Educator at Woodcock Nature Center. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science from Evergreen State College in Washington State and recently completed UConn’s Master Gardener Program.

This program is co-sponsored by the Ridgefield Conservation Commission and the Library.

The Caudatowa Garden Club will have a pop-up seed swap table set up outside this event, so bring your harvested seeds and take some away! Envelopes are available in the Library lobby.
