Description

“Ask Me Anything”

The Commission on Aging Senior Voices forum will present a panel assembled by Ridgefield CT PRIDE on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, 1:00-2:30 PM at the Ridgefield Library. The panel includes Ridgefield CT PRIDE Chair, Alisa Trachtenberg,  First Selectperson Rudy Marconi, Lynn Discenza, Fred Turpin, Clemencia Saleeby and Tiffany Pippins.   All engaged and socially active adults either know an LGBTQ+ individual (e.g. a family member, co-worker, neighbor, friend) or are LGBTQ+. Ms. Trachtenberg  invites anyone attending to “Ask me anything”.

Ms. Trachtenberg formed the chapter in 2019.  The mission statement for the group lists several goals to educate, promote awareness, and understanding. “We hope to increase visibility to celebrate Ridgefield’s LGBTQ+ community” she said.  Joining a support group or reaching out to learn more are a few ways the group assists the community.  The advocacy group recently sponsored a campaign aimed at raising awareness about suicide risk and mental health for youth.  The group is very active, hosting numerous social gatherings, workshops, potlucks, game nights, and family-friendly events.  A “Friendsgiving Dinner” is also planned this holiday season, in partnership with St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. For information about all the resources available, contact www.ridgefieldctpride.com.

Senior Voices is a free event.  Individuals may attend in person or register to attend via Zoom through the Library. There will be time for Q & A after the presentation.
