Program Description

Description

Thrown Stone invites you to our continuing series of community events around the theme,  #CloseToHome.

While many parents know that self-care is essential for the health and well-being of their children, not everyone prioritizes it for themselves. Passion projects — those that may have been forgotten on the road to raising a family — are an essential part of a well-lived life.

Join us as these experts discuss how creative pursuits not only give us more life satisfaction — they actually boost our parenting skills:

- Megan Searfoss, Founder of Run Like a Mother and mother of three

- Tim Washer, Comedy writer and single dad

- Bonnie Johnson Pope, Marathoner and mother of four

- Barbara Jennes, Educator, poet, and mother

Moderated by

- Gina Pulice, Thrown Stone Artistic Associate, clinical social worker, and mother of three

Light refreshments will be served.

This program is part of the Parenting the #Selfie Generation: Resilience for Life series, a community wide collaboration between  Ridgefield Public Schools, Ridgefield Council of PTAs, Ridgefield Library, Ridgefield Youth comission, Books on the Common, Town Vibe and Silver Hill Hospital.
