In an increasingly diverse, fragmented cultural landscape, the institutions of classical music face unprecedented challenges in reserving a place in the American consciousness. RSO Music Director Yuga Cohler and composer Paul Frucht discuss the potential opportunities for American orchestras to make a cultural impact through classical music, including the RSO's upcoming performance of "A More Perfect Union" --a piece based on the most impactful speeches of President Barack Obama, and providing a nonpartisan and holistic overview of his legacy.
