Vernal pools are one of the most fascinating and overlooked areas in Town. Learn about their secrets from IWB commissioner Tim Bishop and how they can be identified and found. . .sometimes in your own backyard. Tim will review their importance as a critical inland wetland resources and how they should be protected and managed. 

Tim is the Director of the Town of Fairfield Conservation Department and is responsible for managing many of its natural resources through the inland wetlands, tidal marsh restoration, conservation open space, shellfish and land acquisition programs. He is a former commissioner of the RCC and current Vice Chairman of the Town Inland Wetlands Board with nearly 20 years of experience in environmental consulting. Tim holds a B.S. in Environmental Conservation from the University of New Hampshire and a M.S. in Environmental Technology from New York Institute of Technology.
