Description
Join us for the launch of Flown, a new poetry chapbook by Barb Jennes. An elegy-in-verse, the poems in Flown weave between portentous childhood memories and the inexorable progress of the disease that would ultimately take her sister's life.
Says poet Terry Blackhawk, "Jennes delivers her unwavering, clear-eyed poems with a heartache made all the more unbearable by their simplicity." And, according to poet Joan Kwon Glass, "FLOWN is a stunning testament to how a traditional elegy can be rendered tender and unsentimental, vast and precise."
Copies of Flown will be available for sale from Books on the Common. Refreshments will be served.
Barb Jennes is an award-winning poet whose collection Blinded Birds was awarded the International Book Award for a Poetry Chapbook in 2022. She served as the poet laureate of Ridgefield from 2020-2023.
