The Hiking Exploits of Dr. Blaine Langberg, Ridgefield Orthodontist

Join Dr. Blaine Langberg as he shares his thrilling adventures hiking Mt. Whitney and Mt. Kilimanjaro, featuring a captivating slideshow of his experiences. He will also screen an inspiring movie, by local cinematographer Alex Lugones, about his trek to Everest Basecamp. To conclude the event, Dr. Langberg will engage the audience with a reading from his book,  Conquering Whitney: A Mountain of Misadventure. 

Married and middle-aged Jacob Silverstein appears to have everything he wants in life: his health, a loving family, and a successful orthodontic practice. But when his best friend invites him to climb Mt. Whitney in California, Jacob's old demons resurface. Fighting his anxiety and lack of self-confidence, he sets out on the physically and emotionally challenging hike up the tallest mountain in the contiguous United States. As Jacob tries to conquer this punishing
14,500-foot climb, he finds the greatest struggle is defeating the voice of his fatalistic inner child.
