Program Description

Description

Children in Kindergarten-3rd grade are invited to meet local author Julie Leung during this storytime celebrating dragons! We'll read The Truth About Dragons, a 2024 Caldecott Honor winner and the recipient of the 2024 Asian Pacific American Award for Literature, and make a special dragon craft inspired by the story. Registration is required and opens on April 18, 2024. Programs like this are made possible in part by the generosity of our donors.

Julie Leung was raised in the sleepy suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated with an English and journalism degree from the University of Georgia. By day, she is a marketing director in book publishing. By night, she is a children’s book author. Her first picture book, Paper Son: The Inspiring Story of Tyrus Wong, Immigrant and Artist, won the Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature. Visit her online at jleungbooks.com.
