Program Description

Description

The Ridgefield Library will present Retirement, Estate, and Legacy Planning: A Panel Discussion via Zoom. The panel will include three professionals with direct experience in this space as well as a recent Ridgefield retiree. The four panelists will address a different aspect of the debate and questions Americans face as retirement and the disposition of their estates loom ahead of them.

Professionals agree understanding the options individuals, couples, and families must address are complicated and there is no age at which it is too early to think about them. Consequently, attendance at this panel is encouraged for patrons of all ages.

Rob Ellis, Managing Director of Ridgefield Capital and Chair of the Library Development Committee will moderate the discussion.  Each Presenter will speak, covering their area of expertise, on the different options, potential rewards and risks relevant to the broader questions of Retirement, Estate, and Legacy Planning. There willalso  be time for questions from the audience.

Presenters are: Bob Whitton, retired founder and principal of Arellton Group, LLC who, with his wife Andrea, have put together a planned giving plan for themselves and their family. Bob is also a past member of the Library Board of Directors.

Ken Huitt, Vice President - Wealth Manager at Bar Harbor Bank and Trust Services.

John Testa, Vice President and Investment Officer at Bar Harbor Bank and Trust.

Marc Vigliotti, who leads Planned Giving at Save the Children U.S. and serves as an advisor for FreeWill.com.
