The 2020 Ridgefield Writers Conference presents an informative evening of online instruction and discussion on the theme of Revision as Opportunity, with award-winning teacher, editor and writer Adele Annesi.
Taking cues from Natalie Goldberg’s classic Writing Down the Bones, this virtual seminar and Q&A will focus on revision as “envisioning again”. The instruction will consider what constitutes vagueness in writing and how to add details that will bring the work closer to the writer’s original idea, from Janet Burroway’s elemental Writing Fiction: A Guide to Narrative Craft.
Adele Annesi is an award-winning writer, editor and teacher, and co-author of Now What? The Creative Writer's Guide to Success After the MFA. A founder of the Ridgefield Writers Conference and Muse & Music, a book editor for Word for Words, LLC, and a former development editor for Scholastic Publishing, Adele writes for various publications and venues. She also teaches creative writing for the Westport Writers’ Workshop.
Best-suited for writers of fiction, memoir and personal narrative, this year’s conference also addresses publishing in an era of COVID. To maximize the time, attendees should select a writing project they plan to revise and prepare a list of questions for the moderated Q&A following the seminar. An informational handout will be sent in advance.
