The start of a monthly series of very good feature length films that have reached the finalist stage of RIFF's competition for the full Festival in Spring 2023. The audience can offer feedback and vote on each film. The featured film tonight is Northern Shade by Christopher Rucinski, United States: A disenchanted Army vet emerges from isolation when his younger brother is recruited by an extremist militia.

Director Bio: Christopher Rucinski is an award-winning filmmaker and member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild. His feature debut NORTHERN SHADE stars Jesse Gavin (Loki, The First Lady) and is currently on the 2022 festival circuit where it won Best Screenplay at Phoenix Film Festival and Best Feature at Poppy Jasper.
