Program Description

Description

Gregory Maichack, award-winning artist and twice Massachusetts Cultural Council Gold Star Award Program nominee, presents his, “Pastel Paint Georgia O’Keeffe’s Famous Lily.” This fun pastel painting workshop serves beginners to advanced artists. Mr. Maichack will provide insights into the lives of the old masters who painted flowers: Leonardo, van Gogh, Monet, and Georgia O’Keeffe.

Since the calla lily is associated with Georgia O’Keeffe, a beautifully structured lily drawing will be the jumping off point using Leonardo da Vinci's "mistake driven" and all-so-easy drawing method: Pentimenti. The essentials of pastel will be demonstrated. Participants become masters at blending, following as Maichack’s pastel versions unveil the process. All materials provided: reference photos and professional grade pastels, with acid free paper, erasers, and white charcoal pencils.

Seen here is a blue one, but participants can choose any color(s) they would want.
