Program Description

Description

Join us for an in-person pastel workshop for complete beginners to advanced artists. All materials (pastels, white charcoal pencils, blending materials, and photo references) will be provided. In this fun “Jellyfish," workshop, you’ll receive instruction in forming expressive pastel strokes, blending, and creating special effects such as transparency and bubbles. Students will keep their own vivid 12 X 18 painting of a jellyfish. Photo references of various & sundry jellyfish are supplied for your inspiration. Maichack’s own pastel painted works will unveil the process, and all will be entertained by lively anecdotes.

Gregory Maichack is an award-winning artist, two-time Mass. Cultural Council Gold Star Award Program nominee, and a seasoned teacher who hasinstructed at the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) Boston and hundreds of libraries.

This program is part of the "Oceans of Possibilities" Adult Summer Reading Programs thanks to generosity of the Friends of the Library.
