Program Description

Description

Frogs and fur, the amazing biodiversity of Ridgefield!

If you have ever wondered what lives in the woods in your backyard or what is swimming in the forest pools at the local preserve, then join the Ridgefield Conservation Commission and students from Pace University to learn about the incredible diversity of wildlife found in town.  Pace has been conducting surveys throughout the forests of Ridgefield for mammals using motion-activated cameras as well as conducting surveys of forest (vernal) pools for spring-breeding amphibians.  The findings of this work are being used to update Ridgefield’s Natural Resource Inventory, a catalog of the Town’s habitats, flora, and fauna.
