Description
Ridgefield Library, Ridgefield Commission on Aging, and RVNAhealth team up to host Falls Assessments and Balance Testing program, which is free and open to all.
The statistics on falls for those over age 65+ are noteworthy. One of three adults over 65 falls each year. Falls are the leading cause of injury deaths in adults over 65. Two-thirds of those who fall will fall again.
The good news, however, is that knowledge is power and understanding your own vulnerabilities and what you can do about them can seriously reduce your risk of falling.
Join RVNAhealth at the Ridgefield Library sponsored by the Ridgefield Commission on Aging, for an hour-long Falls Assessments and Balance Testing program. Featuring RVNAhealth’s Gigi Weiss, MSPT, Director of Rehabilitation Services, and Kate Campbell, RVNAhealth Outpatient Practice Manager, you’ll leave the session armed with information and techniques to increase your safety and stability.
- Hear the stats, facts, and risk factors that increase the likelihood of falling
- measure and assess your vulnerability
- learn strategies and exercises to minimize your risk
