Program Description

Description

Join us for this live online webinar, presented by the Norwalk River Watershed Association’s Cathy Smith, to find out more about the emerging field of soundscape ecology, and how you can take some simple steps to welcome nature’s chorus back to your neighborhood.

In these challenging and anxious times, we’d like to offer some distraction and perhaps a little inspiration. Research confirms what most of us know to be true – nature can have a restorative, life-affirming effect on us when we open ourselves to enjoy its pleasures.

In particular, enjoying the sounds of nature can be a good way to de-stress. And when you’re hearing lots of natural sounds, it’s a pretty good sign of the health of your immediate environment. We’ll also cover planting tips and other practical strategies.

This program is co-sponsored by the Ridgefield Library, Norwalk River Watershed Association and Ridgefield Pollinator Pathway.
