Description

In today's challenging job market, being excellent at what you do is not enough. You also need to be excellent at marketing what you do - in a way that sets you apart, conveys your unique value, and differentiates you as a candidate. How do you do that? By first, understanding the elements of your personal and professional brand. Join Executive Career Coach, Laura Powers, President of Powers Career Coaching, LLC, for an informative presentation where you will learn: 1) what personal and professional branding is (and isn't), 2) why it matters (so much) in job search, and 3) how to begin to define and display your brand, authentically and strategically, throughout your job search campaign.

Laura Powers, President of Powers Career Coaching, LLC, is an Executive Career Transition Coach with over 20 years of experience helping accomplished leaders from diverse industries and career stages build the clarity, confidence and self-marketing skills needed to make satisfying, successful career moves. Laura is professionally trained and certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Strong Interest Inventory, and Social & Emotional Intelligence Profile/SEIP assessment tools.

In addition to running her private executive career coaching practice, Laura’s corporate career coaching experience includes positions at four corporate outplacement firms, a five-year career advisory role with The Hartford Financial Services Group, and earlier career experience as a corporate and private banking lender and business developer in the metropolitan New York area.

A sought-after speaker on career-related topics, Laura has presented at a variety of area networking groups for transitioning professionals as well as the Business Council of Westchester; Women’s Leadership & Empowerment Summit at Manhattanville College School of Business; and Laura’s alma mater, Wheaton College (MA), where Laura currently serves as a volunteer Alumni Career Coach.
