Program Description

Description

Ridgefield’s own, Blaine Langberg, will celebrate the launch of his debut novel, Journey of a JuBu: How a Neurotic Jew found his inner Bu, via live Zoom webinar. The author will be interviewed by Tom Fiffer (Senior Editor, Ethics, The Good Men Project and Founder, Christmas Lake Creative) about how he’s followed the maxim “write what you know” when creating his protagonist, Adam Freeman, and the book at large.

Blaine exaggerated parts of his life to create JuBu — which examines the struggle to achieve spirituality in today’s pop culture-obsessed society. Part pilgrimage, part romp, a blend of spiritual humor and meta-fiction, Journey of a JuBu is best summed up as “Seinfeld meets The Celestine Prophecy.” The Author Talk will be followed by a Q & A. Signed copies of Blaine's book can be purchased by ordering at Books on the Common.

Board certified, Harvard-trained orthodontist by day, author and stand-up comedian by night, Blaine Langberg enjoys writing and mainlining pop culture in his spare time. In addition, he’s found meditation helps quiet his mind. Blaine lives in Connecticut with his family and Journey of a JuBu is his first novel.
