As the closing keynote talk of this fall’s scholarly series The Curious Mind: Exploration and Discovery, join us for a call to action from technology industry legend Nick Donofrio as he shares his insights on how our human curiosity leads to innovation and to positive change.  In topics ranging from emerging technology to the importance of diversity and inclusion, Nick highlights opportunities to change our path for the better and for embracing change. As he highlighted in his 2022 autobiography, “If Nothing Changes, Nothing Changes”, Nick believes deeply in each individual’s ability to drive transformation in our lives and our society.

Nick Donofrio is 44-year IBM veteran who led IBM’s technology and innovation strategies from 1997 until his graduation from IBM in October 2008. He was also the vice chairman of the IBM International Foundation and the chairman of the board of governors for the IBM Academy of Technology. His most recent responsibilities included IBM research, governmental programs, technical support and quality, corporate community relations, and environmental health and product safety. He holds seven technology patents and is a member of numerous technical and science honor societies. Donofrio earned his B.S.E.E. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and M.S.E.E. from Syracuse University. He is also the recipient of 10 honorary degrees from colleges and universities in the UK as well the USA.  An IBM Fellow Emeritus and retired IBM Executive Vice President Innovation & Technology, Nick continues to lead on the world stage, recently being named a Trustee of Natcast, the operator of the National Semiconductor Technology Center (NSTC), the core research and development component of the Department of Commerce’s CHIPS for America program.
