Art in Common, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) community outreach non-profit charitable organization based in Ridgefield, CT whose mission is to promote creativity, increase community awareness around important social issues and foster connection across diverse populations. Creative connection focusing on what we share facilitates compassion and understanding. On Friday, February 22, 2019, at 7 pm, Art in Common will host "Ignition," an evening of poetry at the Ridgefield Library.

Poets of all ages and walks of life will come together to give voice to their dreams and fears through verse. Art In Common believes that the Arts should be accessible to everyone and that creativity fuels life and enriches a community. This event will bring to life those principles and provide an evening of entertainment and provocative thought. It should be a great evening of creativity and connection.

As the Nobel prize-winning Chilian poet Pablo Neruda wrote, “Poetry is an act of peace.” In these heightened, divisive times, we look forward to a reprieve through the heartfelt exchange from poets from many walks of life.
