Program Description

Description

This lecture looks at some of the world’s best-known works of art, and where they can be seen in museums in Europe. While many of these masterpieces are found in well-known museums, a few are not, so you may learn about new museums along the way to add to your next itinerary.

Included in this lecture are works by history’s greatest artists spanning from the Renaissance to the Modern era. This lecture will include a look at works by Leonardo Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Johannes Vermeer, Édouard Manet, Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, James McNeill Whistler, Pablo Picasso, and more.

Robin Hoffman and Jodi Stiffelman, of ArtScapades, began teaching art appreciation in 1998. They have presented at libraries, art centers, and museums in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Florida.

This program is part of the Library's scholarly series, The Curious Mind: Exploration and Discovery.
